How the Characters come about…
I got this question from Paggos in another thread but after I jotted it all down I realized that this gives a good amount of inside on how some characters are formed. Seeing this new little blog option, on the side of my screen, and seeing as Ive always thought about doing a ‘blog’ about some of my writing. I figure I would throw some stuff in here, see how it goes.
When a character is created my friends many things happen but there is a one thing that is true no matter what. It’s a mix an match.
All the characters I’ve mentioned thus far. Rayna, Risea, Elem, and Elin, they are all actually people who will joining the game. I have known some of them for years played with them extensively, and want to bring them here. I’m just waiting for the right moment to show them all to Elysium.
Are they exactly like the characters that I portray or will portray? No, aspects of them filter in to my writing; much of the character though is based on what they have told me, or what I have experienced firsthand.
They don’t actually know I’m writing all this as a history for the guild.
If some of the writing seems to focus a lot on them or even my character, it is because of the fact I am familiar with the subject matter. And I do not want to do things that would offend or antagonize those who do not want to be worked into the story.
Like Eidolon an Aura, though I would like to feature them more. Without a nod of approval I’m hesitant to use them as characters. I also do not know how they want to portrayed so I fear I might walk to fine a line if I go to far with them.
Sakei was particular; even though I started writing her before I necessarily got Sakei’s permission I got a particular ‘vibe’ off him as a person. That was translated into the story. Luckily I was right (go esp!) but I do not like to rely too heavily on that.
As for minor characters like Veria, an Markam, they are based off no one in particular. They are a mix and match of traits, whimsical idea’s and people that I’ve met over time. They have no one source but help to keep the story moving.

I am, too, writing a story based off of characters but at this point in the story they are not from Aion as my character, Falon Beyon, who the story is based around has not yet entered the world of Aion. I plan for her to eventually enter Aion officially once the game is released. Her story is long and drawn into a series of three "books" of her life. Her life as a fantasy being which was created from my own real personal experiences. So think of it as my life turned and shaped into a fantasy story which I have been writing for three years now. Each year represented by each book and all events taken from real experiances.
All characters within the story are based off of real-players' characters who have, in some way, made an impression on Falon's character.
I look toward Aion as a new begining for Falon which may continue on into a fourth book or I might just end the story at book three. It is undecided at this point. If it does develop into a fourth book, it will be a much different setting and she will probably lose most of her past memories. It will be a rebirth for her as in book three she is most likely to die. I am still writing book three with two possible endings and in one, she does die.
if she dies, she will be reborn into Aion... that is the plan anyway
