Did you play the first beta event?
Chinese/Korean players aside, did any of you play the first US beta event with a Sorcerer? Thoughts? I got mine to 20 pretty fast, and right from the start I noticed I seemed to have a leg up on most other classes because I was quickly breaking away from the crowd.
Overall I liked the experience, but if I had to pick out flaws, they would be this:
CC's generate way too much threat. if I have to chain CC an elite more than twice, I was almost guaranteed to die. It's possible my tank was horrible, but I did seem to generate way too much threat.
Sorcerer's bring new meaning to the term squishy. I've played casters in a handful of top MMO's in recent years, and none of dropped dead as fast as the Aion Sorcerer.. Not that I'm complaining, after all I'm wearing cloth, but I don't think the balancing point between DPS and survivability has been achieved yet. At least not in PVE.
Mana Regen was horrible for me.
Being that this was my first experience playing a Sorcerer, I'd love to get the input from you all on the above mentioned points.
I felt pretty squishy as well, but I'm used to playing tank classes, lol. my ccs were pulling a lot of threat as well, but i felt as if i was able to indefinately keep mobs away from me if you ignore the rare spell miss. I've never actually had the chance to play with a tank yet (sad I know) but as long as I had one healer elite mobs multiple lvls over me were cake so I say it balances out.
normal mobs aren't a problem with threat, but the elites were a big problem. I'm a 2-shot for any elite at level 20, so CC'ing them meant almost certain death.. Not cool.

Teehee, roll a ranger. I can kite elites above my level all day long. Yay, for havingt a snare that u can keep up almost at all times.
I know when i was in arena pvping SM,and Sorc were 3hits for my 20 glad if they didnt see me coming 6 if that damn sheild was up on them but still Squishy
I think you guys just had bad tanks, I didnt have a problem returning hate once my group was ready to take any adds I was ccing. Definately a squishy class if you don't keep your stoneskin up, which a supprising number do not. I never run around without it, especially in abyss, most other sorc I come across usually try to put it up after I take half to 2/3 of thier hp. But running around with it up at all times and if you come across someone that gets near you they basically have to break it twice as you can put it back up immediately after they go through the first one. I could see that being very annoying if I was a melee attacking a sorc, I have to take 1.6k dmg before my life bar moves lol. Also no real trouble with kiting either, I seem to do just fine running away. Mana regen is really bad though, you have to rest, every so often, no getting around that unless you kill super slow, however that mana recovery ability is up every 2 minutes so that helps keep you going for quite some time depending on your spell cycle for pve.
Of course this is all based on my chinese account, I didn't play the elyos beta for NA.
asmordian .. would be very grateful to receive a key to the test on 19 of junho.thanks
