I saw this in the blog, and I am not for sure how to see comments on it so here is my question.

I saw this on the blog:

Thanks to the continued diligence from the first two closed beta events, the third event includes several updates and changes in the game content:

- Added GameGuard beta file for Windows 7; please note this file is still in testing and is not yet an official public release

Will this be added during a "patch" tomorrow at 3EST? Just tyring to find out if I can actually play with Windows 7 or do I have to plug my Vista hard drive back up.

Good to see they working on that as AION wasn't running on Win 7 32 Bit at all.

I'm running Win 7 64 bit and had problems at first. Just patched the .des file from GG and everything running smooth since then. I'll backup my GG folder just in case they fuck up ;P

I can't get GG to work at all on my 64 bit. Gives me an error code of 0 before I "patch" it and then 114 I believe after I patch it.

God, Game Guard is sooooo horrible!

I'm glad to see they're actively working to make Aion compatible with Windows7. Its such a nice OS :D

Yeah that's the one "error: 0"

Dex, it won't let me go to the site you listed. Kaspersky says its malicious.. My computer then locks up, and I have to restart the computer.....

I have the error code 0 fixed, or so I think, then it gives me the error code 114. Stupid GameGaurd.

EDIT:

Did some digging because my stupid do nothing game guard client for Aion would just crash with error message 0 a few seconds after starting. Deleting the GameGuard folder does not seem to matter.

Apparently you can use the .des files from the Chinese version over top of yours and it works fine.

Found the solution at the bottom of this thread.

But, because you don’t need to go chasing links… here’s the .des file in the form of a .rar as linked on the forums (no registration required to download for this site!).
CLICK HERE

Open up this folder for 64bit:
C:\Program Files (x86)\NCSoft\Aion\bin32
For 32bit, AION will just BSOD in Win7 right now, I’m assuming this is going to be fixed by Aion later.

Then rename GameGuard.des to GameGuard.bullshit and copy in the one from the rar supplied here. Presto, it works! You’re Welcome!
