Things you realize...

I hope all had a wonderful and relaxing Christmas holiday! I was very fortunate to spend the day with a awesome lady....Grannie is 87 now and is a late 5 early stage 6 in dementia. When I walked in and saw here sitting there in here wheelchair...I stopped...This lady took care of me when I was sick, drove me to school, and gave me support when I needed it. Now the roles were reversed. We talked of times past (her short term memory is all but gone, but she can remember things from long ago), what she had for breakfast, and where my parents were. She held my hand and she looked directly at me and said, "Honey I know more than you realize and I know you care about me very much." Damn near made me cry.

But as all things go the day went well and I was able to step back and see Grannie in her daily schedule. And as they say....
