Time of year
It's that time of year to stand back a bit and take time to pause and reflect on the events of the year... There has been many good things that have come to pass, but also we must take the bad with the good. I myself have had my share of both, but I am taking my current situation as a growing point. I could wallow in my self-imposed negativity, but I am trying (trying because I am human and am wont to whine) to see the silver lining so to speak. I have much to be thankful for...I have a roof over my head, food to eat, clothes to wear (although my mum would argue that hobos dress better), and a car that runs. I also am blessed with my family and a bunch of new found friends.
I also am blessed (sorry for trhe repitition) to have Grannie that loves me (in her own way of course). Being a stage 5/6 dementia resident she often mistakes me for my mum, but that's ok...I recently went to go and see her and realized how lucky I am....She greeted me and ask me how I was...that very simple greeting made me feel like I was on top of the world. And it was in that small moment that I realized how small my "problems" were...I still had my mind and the use of my body. At this time of year that gesture was all it took to anchor me back to earth. So my dear found friends I urge you to make that visit, call, or write. May the blessings of the year continue to fall upon you and may the new year continue to find you happy, healthy, and content
