Paths Ahead
Some of you may be wondering where the hell I have been lately. Well, I decided that Dihedral was leveling too fast and I wanted to put the brakes on her so I could run
Seriously though, having the full daevanion set for my spiritmaster doesn’t hurt and the extra cube and broker slots are welcome as well. I could also park some of them at outbound rift locations later on for speedy checking. I am finding out now what some of you went through during your younger levels.
Anhedral (Sorcerer) – She has served as my bank alt for many months now with no ambitions of leveling. Time to light some fireballs. Spellsingers (Lineage II) will always be my favorite casters. I didn’t like my mage in WoW (3 mobs = OOM). That said NC did a great job with this class. Up to level 30 they are mana misers (provided you keep Lumiel’s Wisdom up) and hard hitting. I chuckled the first time I hit blind leap (a bass ackwards take on WoW’s ‘blink’). It was nice to be facing the mob after deploying this autokiting skill. When I got Freezing Wind at lvl 25 I was in heaven as I could now finish mobs much quicker without using long cast time skills for those pesky amounts of residual HP. We ran a TG one night with no tank and all range dps, this was entertaining and everyone was astonished at the speed in which we cleared the place out. With 2 rangers, myself and another sorc basically everything we pulled was perma-slowed. Sooo…Kat get your ass back in game!
Dihedral (Spiritmaster) – Her asmodian counterpart (Dian) was to be my sole alt from the outset but then shit happened and here we are. I am not going to be shy about expressing much satisfaction with spiritmasters. Sure they are easy to play but you can play little mini games while grinding like have the mob die right at your feet with no damage to you or your pet (water baby). DP accumulates fast and they are the least gear dependant imo. I am looking forward to getting back on her.
Anjedin (Assassin) – Named after one of the systems my corp used to ice mine in EVE she was birthed late one Saturday evening whilst listening to Azira’s explanation and justification for having multiple alts. Basically playing to play and enjoy the diversity that Aion has to offer. I decided to walk a mile in her and Ketto’s shoes. Ok, im no expert by any means at this class but then the winds of crit are blowing your way sins can be very rewarding and efficient, when they aren’t prepare to take some heavy damage. The approach I used was to blow focused evasion as often as possible (quite the opposite of my ranger) and evade, evade, evade. Timing the cashouts (pain & binding rune) is paramount to success and even survival. Aethertwisting is a very refreshing way to teabag magic mobs. I salute you two and all sins for grinding to 50 with no CC, you really need one imo.
Tramontane (Cleric) – Ok this class is NC’s little way of giving all you crybabys the reacharound. If you can’t handle your class play a cleric they are fun as hell (at least in the early levels). You are a chain wearing mage + healer. Shit dies fast, faster than on my SM and I thought she was fast. Awesome balance of long range nukes and melee makes for some awesome root kiting. Fun-fun.
Andi (Ranger) – Yeah all this altaholism makes for some intense homesickness. I will getting back to her soon. If you noticed the cover image, yeah she had some work done (Tabitha’s hair J) She’s still my main, love the toon and the archetype. Have much still to do on her with the legion soooo….
Get the fuck back in game!
Cheers
Noob. I was just about to msg you here and ask what the deal was.
Seems like a lot of people are taking a break. I've been focusing more on my studies and trying out new games/finishing old ones. Downloaded the open-beta for a game called Heroes of Newerth (it's essentially DotA 2.0) and it's really quite fun, even when you lose. Aion seems to just be disappointing me more nowadays. My cleric alt is fun but I can't find myself wanting to try different classes. I want to level my sorc more as well as start a ranger, templar, and spiritmaster, but I'm completely uninterested in doing Verteron quests anymore after going through them so many times during the betas.
I'm really, really hoping they announce more about the 1.9 patch soon. It's discouraging me how slow they are being to translate a mainly bug fix patch with minimal new in-game content -- it makes me worry that we won't see 2.0 until around December at the earliest. My subscription runs out in about a week and I haven't decided whether I want to resubscribe or not. It definitely will not be another 6 month subscription, but maybe a 3 just to save a few bucks over the general $15 a month standard fee.
Glad to see you're enjoying trying out new classes, Andi. Equally glad to hear you finally understand the Assassin's pain ;) hopefully I'll see you and there rest of the legion during the times I'm actually on.
I will be back in game by Monday at the latest
necrooooo no one has filled your place in our fantasies of sockless adventures. I hope you are back soon if not, then on monday as you say :D
I will be in game after i'll fix my PC... need to change hard drive, power suppy, maybe processor and at last - somehow order that Aion US and get it running on my PC :D
